We originally took this approach in fc6f133 because of speed. By I've submitted a number of patches to rspec-puppet-facts to speed it up. Have you done any comparison on runtime? |

execution of the unit tests went from ~2 minutes to ~3 minutes, and from two tested OSes for the plugins to 8 tested OSes. If that's acceptable I can take a look at the failing tests. |
