This is the first release of the modern BeepChecker Tauri application.

BeepChecker 3.0.0 has been completely rewritten from scratch using Tauri, Rust, plain HTML, JavaScript, and Tailwind CSS. This new version faithfully recreates the classic look and feel of the original Windows Forms app, while embracing modern technologies for improved portability, maintainability, and ease of use.

BeepChecker no longer requires .NET Framework or any external dependencies—just Microsoft Edge WebView2, which is preinstalled on most Windows 10 and 11 systems (and will be automatically installed by the setup if needed).

For the legacy Windows Forms version, see the legacy-winforms branch and Version 2.2.0 release.

Version 2.2.0

This is the latest and final release of the legacy BeepChecker Windows Forms application.

BeepChecker 2.2.0 has been rebuilt and updated for compatibility with .NET Framework v4.8, ensuring it runs smoothly on the latest Windows versions. This release includes minor layout fixes and installer updates for a better user experience.

Most of the source code for this version was originally written back in 2015 (over a decade ago!) when BeepChecker first went open source, was tested on Windows 10, introduced an installer, and refreshed its icon.

This release marks the end of active development for the classic Windows Forms edition. BeepChecker has now been rewritten from scratch as a modern Tauri desktop app, faithfully preserving the original look and feel while embracing new technologies for improved portability and maintainability.

For the new version, see the main branch and latest releases.
