Describe the question

I really like the tool, it's very nice, but there's one thing (actually a couple) that I just can't figure out - it seems the only thing left for me to try is to write my own plugin(s), which sounds ridiculous, the things I want to achieve aren't that uncommon.

So, basically I want to be able to search for files and in files based on the project root directory (git root). Not CWD, not $HOME, not root dir, but git rev-parse --show-toplevel.

And I can't just get it right. I even thought - "fine, let me add a keybinding that jumps to the project root", but that also turned out to be tricky and I couldn't figure that one either.

Can someone please share the way for searching filenames with fd {} --base-directory $(git rev-parse --show-toplevel) and similarly for rg too.

Any help is much appreciated.

Yes, this has worked. TIL about single quote triplets wrapping. I also added these two, even though they look clumsy, I think they work in both zsh and bash.

I'm now dealing with "open" not working on ssh-ed machine, even though xdg-open is present and I tried all sorts of combinations in [opener] section, but that's an entirely different issue.
