NanoKVM Cube stuck on legacy layout (/old) – UI updater cannot detect version or upgrade

Hi,

I’m using NanoKVM Cube with legacy firmware 2.2.8 and can’t upgrade it using the Web UI.

Device

Model: NanoKVM Cube

Firmware: 2.2.8

Arch: riscv64

Storage: eMMC (no SD card)

Issue

The device uses a legacy layout:

/old/
└─ version (2.2.8)

The Web UI updater expects the new layout (e.g. /kvmapp) and:

can’t detect the current firmware version

can’t perform OTA update

provides no migration path

Because Cube has no SD card, users on legacy firmware are effectively stuck.

Expected

UI updater support for legacy layout or

an official recovery / eMMC reflash method for NanoKVM Cube

Actual

Version shown as unknown

Update fails or does nothing

No documented upgrade path

You can refer to this document to check if the system can be flashed normally. I'm not sure if this method can be executed normally in eMMC.

You can also follow these steps to manually update the application.
