I'm not sure if this post is in the right place. I have HAOS 16.2. |

I have the same error after shutting down my HA. I wanted to change boot settings (to start the machine when power is back). The error goes away as soon as I unplug the ethernet cable and then once the HA is fully loaded I can plug in the cable. Whenever I restart the machine I have to follow the same procedure 😭 |

Describe the feature
If there is a sudden power failure, it may appear that HAOS is unable to restart the system properly.
An endless loop then runs at “A start job is running for docker application container engine,” and HA simply does not start.
I found the following instructions:
https://techoverflow.net/2022/01/05/how-i-fixed-docker-panic-assertion-failed-write-circular-dependency-occurred/
These describe possible steps that can be taken if the problem occurs. Currently, HAOS does not seem to care if a problem occurs at this point.
The “repair” was successful for me, but it presented me with major challenges, such as how to access the file system from the outside.
Therefore, it would be nice if HAOS would do something when Docker cannot start for a long time. It could either attempt an automatic repair or boot into a shell.
If it is possible to switch to a shell, it would be nice if this were mentioned somewhere.
Otherwise, beginners are faced with a big problem and may have to reinstall the system, restore a backup, etc.
Use cases
Avoids complicated actions for beginners or having to reset the system if Docker no longer starts after a power failure.
Current workarounds
Use the following instructions in conjunction with ChatGPT to access the system and complete the first step.

Anything else?
Since HAOS is really well protected against various problems (e.g., during updates), it would be nice if a sudden power failure could also be remedied as well as possible in such a case.
