Add support for direct Android home screen shortcuts (dashboards, views, device/person location) #1024
-
Describe the featureIt would be very useful if the Home Assistant Android app supported direct shortcuts that can be placed on the phone’s home screen. These shortcuts could open specific parts of the app directly, without navigating manually. Right now, the Android app only opens to the last used view or the default dashboard. To reach a specific control panel or person’s location, you need multiple taps. There is no way to add a “1-tap entry point” to the home screen. Use casesUse case examples:
ExamplesOther Android apps (banking apps, smart home apps, Google Maps, etc.) often allow deep-link shortcuts to specific screens or actions. Bringing this to Home Assistant would align expectations with typical Android behaviour. Anything else?

this is already possible using the existing shortcut feature, you can either navigate to a dashboard/view or a entity directly https://companion.home-assistant.io/docs/integrations/android-shortcuts |
