Tips and tricks for using Amazon RDS with Laravel/Forge

Joel - saw the link to the article on the Shifty group - good stuff!

I've got Forge/Envoyer running on AWS with the database in RDS. I had a lot of missteps in getting it set up - I think it would help a lot of folks if you could expand on the subnet section and describe some of the differences in the AWS databases, plus a concrete example of connecting RDS to your Laravel server.
