jj file track all() doesn't do anything on a repo with auto-track=none

I have a new jj repo in which I have set snapshot.auto-track = "none". Therefore all files in my driectory are listed as untracked.

For the first commit I want to add all files to the working copy, so I tried:

jj file track all() 

but none of the files are tracked. Only spelling out all files via shell expansion did track my files.

What's going wrong? As I understand all() is the shortcut fileset for all files... And how do I specify with a simple expression all files to be track?

When you say "none", is it a fileset or a file named none or a revset?
The other examples I've seen used none().
You could remove it for the first commit, and add it after...

The actually config command must be

jj config set --repo snapshot.auto-track "none"

I just shortened it for the "flow"...

nit: You still want the parentheses there so you don't track specifically the file called none.

jj file track 'all()' works for me. Can you check if jj status lists untracked paths as such? If they aren't listed, these files might be excluded by .gitignore.

My bad. I had not quoted all() and my shell (Nushell) must have interpreted it not as a literal string.

When I quote 'all()' it works for me as expected as well.

It just occurred to me that when I use the GUI file manager in Linux to copy a file, it comes out as foo(copy 1).ext. So if I am trying to specify that file, I suppose I need quotes since there's a space. Is there a conflict with the parentheses and quotes?
