border-radius on items exposes white corners

I've faced the following issue while developing a dark nord theme (to pr here later): setting border-radius: 5% in items e.g. alt_item_css exposes white corners. I presume, I must set a background on some parent element. But which one? Setting background on parent css or items_css does not help, white corners are preserved. I've checked the bundled themes - none of them are using rounded corners on items, so this little but frustrating issue remained unnoticed. You can try to reproduce it with any dark theme.

AFAIK, this is a bug in the Qt framework. Not sure if there is a workaround.
