Installation process - "gem install rails -v 3.2.12" fails

Hi,
I am trying to follow the installation procedure to install the VTN but I have a problem to install rails.
I get an error "Unable to download data from https://rubygems.org/ - Received fatal alert: protocolversion (https://rubygems.org/specs.4.8.gz)" when running "gem install rails -v 3.2.12". It looks like the project uses the old version of JRuby that doesn't support TLS v1.2.

This can be solved by upgrading Torquebox to the most current 3.2.0

upgrading torquebox is unlikely to solve the issue when trying to install rails as a gem, what you need to do is install a newer version of jruby, then do

gem install bundler:1.12.5
bundle _1.12.5_ install

this will download all dependencies from the Gemfile (this includes Rails/Torquebox) and you can work from there. Move the gems to the older ruby (1.7.10) and you should be good to go.
