Adding the Symfony Version Maintained Badge to our README to see if the currently used version is still maintained.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm a bit unsure about the use case, given that the badge only tells you whether a specific third party dependency is maintained rather than the project itself. The values for these badges would change very rarely, we're talking 2 to 3 times in the badge's lifetime over the course of several years. I feel like the static badge provides the simplest solution for this.

It's not as integrated as a complete badge, but it will inform you of eol/eom (you can replace to what you need)

Yeah, I also thought about this, but I can't see a way to pack in all the information. I could also do a small endpoint which transforms the data for an endpoint badge.
