Dropdown mis-positioned with react-native 0.78.0 (or maybe 0.77)

After a recent upgrade of react-native from 0.76.x to 0.78, the dropdown is mis-positioned vertically. It appears lower on the screen than it should. I suspect it's related to "Forced edge-to-edge on Android 15" feature on on 0.77 (https://reactnative.dev/blog/2025/01/21/version-0.77#android-version-15-support--16kb-page-support), though I have not yet proven this.

Related, the "mask" applied to the screen behind the drop-down does not cover the "unsafe" areas.
